Curry!

So now that my computer is back in working order here is my entry for Day 7 of the Girly-Girl challenge.

I started with two coats of Revlon ColorStay Fall Mood. If you know me you know how much to love warm colors, and this was no exception.

I then did a quick gradient with China Glaze Electrify

These remind me of curry, something that I never eat, and fire. I wore these to the midnight premiere of the Hunger Game because they also remind me of the girl on FIRE.

Giveaway?

I just picked up a bottle of Twisted from my local Sally's. I'm thinking maybe a giveaway... thoughts?

I know why the caged poodle sings

So my inspiration today was Maya Angelou. I decided to base my manicure on the wonderful I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. I started with 3 coats of China Glaze Peachy Keen. I then free-handed a bird with Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Black Out and China Glaze GR8.

The blog name is because I think my birds look more like a poodle than a bird... I'm still working on my free-hand.

Whoever said orange is the new pink was seriously disturbed

Hey everyone, thanks for the concern and being patient with me during my hiatus. I recently started a new medicine that makes my fingers tingle, making it a little interesting to do my nails. I am getting used to it, so I think it shouldn't make a big difference. I may talk more about my heath issues later, but now onto what you all want to see!

Today is CHICK FLICKS. I had so many ideas, but had an interview today (so I had to take this off right after I finished in favor of something more conservative) so I kept it simple.

This is OPI's Pompeii Purple. This is an old color, a gift from my boyfriend's mother. It seems a lot like Limbo Bimbo but I have no problem with that, since I love this color!

To add some Elle Woods inspired glitter I used CG Snow Globe, which is amazing. This is only 1 coat!

Colbalt

Just a quick post today. This is Kleancolor's Cobalt. I have to swatch this because it is seriously one of my favorite polishes.

I then used Orly Luxe, Zoya Trixie, and CG Lemon Fizz for polka dotted amazingness.

A baseball diamond is a girl's best friend

So today's challenge was "Gimme that Bling" but all I could think about was that baseball season is finally starting up again. So I decided to dedicate this manicure to my favorite kind of diamond!

I started with 5 coats of China Glaze In the Limelight. I had forgotten what a pain in the butt neons are... and it chipped in less than 24 hours! It is a pretty color though...

I then added 4 different baseball designs using dotting tools and some brushes. In case you can't tell, index to pinky: baseball bat, baseball, field, and cap.

I think the cap is my favorite design, what do you think?

Rimmel London

I don't think I've ever seen anyone review Rimmel nail polish, but it was on sale at CVS: 2/$6. I bought these two polishes.

This is Rags to Riches. I totally love this color. It's is a rich green with gold and green shimmers. It definitely reminded me of money! (eek, check out the shrinkage on the middle finger!)

The other color I got was Wild Orchid. This was a pretty, dusty lilac. It reminded me of China Glaze's Spontaneous. I should do a side by side.

The formula on these was awesome, and the brush was very easy to use. The overall display of colors wasn't too impressive, but if you are just growing your collection, these are probably a good bet.

Pink Birthday Nails

My first nail challenge... so exciting! As I said this was created by the lovely and talented Lindsey at Neverland Nail Blog.

Today's challenge was Think Pink--"Wear your favorite pink polish and nail art."

I started with China Glaze's Limbo Bimbo. I love this name, it just cracks me up. This is three coats, and such a pretty color. It is a bring fuchsia with a very prominent purple duochrome. Here it is in natural light:

And in direct sunlight:

Now, since today is my birthday, I decided to decorate some cupcakes! The ring finger and thumb are OPI's Dancing in the Isles. I then used Ulta's Pinata-Yada-Yada (three coats) the rest of the nails. I used CG White Out, OPI's Hey Vito, is my Car Ready? P-Y-Y, and a purple striping polish to create   the cupcakes.

Check out these other gals who are participating in the Girlie challenge!

I'm Fondue of You

For Valentine's Day my mother got me a gift certificate for a manicure and pedicure. I used the gift certificate for this pretty manicure.

This is OPI's I'm Fondue of You. It's a light chocolate brown with reddish shimmer. I like this, but it's not my favorite brown. I am a sucker for shimmer though.

To spice it up a little I added 3D Nail Seal Professional flower to the thumb and ring finger.

Not the most amazing manicure I've ever had, but it's nice.

Update and a sweet pic

I had gotten a little lazy on my swatching, I just updated my swatches. Also, my birthday is 3/6 and my boyfriend got me some polishes off my wish list, check to see which!

I will be participating in Lindsey's Girlie Girl nail challenge! I will post twice a week, I haven't yet decided if it will be on M-W-F or on T-Th. I guess it will be an adventure!

Here is the challenge:

And finally, here is the manicure I did on the 3rd grader I tutored for after she did an awesome job on her math homework! (Kleancolor's Metallic Fuchsia)

Cappuccino Polka Dot Wave

I started with Kleancolor's Cappuccino. I absolutely love browns, and this is one of the easiest formulas I've worked with. I am so lucky, Kleancolor is one of the polishes at my local dollar store. It smells awful, but the formulas can't be beat!

I used my dotting tool to do a wavy pattern with OPI's Hey Vito Is My Car Red-y. I then surrounded it with Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Sun Kissed and CG Lemon Fizz. I used my medium dotting tool for all the dots. I like this manicure, but I think I'd rather do it the opposite way (yellow in the middle). with big dots in the middle and smaller on the outside. I think an improvement on this manicure might be what I end up submitting to Sarah's dotting tool contest. What do you think?
