Metallic Fuchsia

This is Kleancolor's Metallic Fushia. It's a very pretty color but kinda a pain in the ass. You'll see that this isn't the cleanest manicure I've ever done, but I've been trying to clean up my edges better.

The name says fuchsia, but in person it's really more a metallic purple in person. In certain nights it looks more pink:

But these pictures show the purple more. This is direct sunlight.

I did this design, plaid, a few months ago on one of my friends. I think I'll try to do a tutorial for it soon, I love this design.

Pretty pretty princess

If I could do this to my nails when I was 8-years-old I would have... totally hated them! I was such a tomboy, I would only wear my brother's hand-me-downs and shunned all things girly. I've grown up quite a bit since then... though I still don't wear makeup and prefer jeans and t-shirts to dresses any day of the week. I guess my only real girly outlet is my nails... and man are they girly today!

I started with one of my pre-obsession nail polishes, I've had this color forever! This is a Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Bubble Gum Pink. It is a dusty, light and girly pink. It looks slightly purple in some lights, but usually it is exactly what its name suggests:

Here it is in natural light. These hasn't been any sun around here for days, so excuse the lackluster photos, please.

I decided that since it was such a girly color I would just go all the way! I used CG Pink Voltage for some polkadots arounds flowers made of CSpontaneous and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Sun Kissed

Look how shiny!!! SV = <3

I keep going back and forth with this manicure, either I love it or it is just completely ridiculous!

Have a great weekend, I'll update again on Monday.

Pink Polka Dots

This is one of my favorite all-time manicures. This is CG's Pink Voltage with black, white, and green polka dots. I did this forever ago, before I was taking multiple pictures, so this is all I have... :/

Stamping and Duochrome

This beautiful color is Sinful Colors Bali Mist over Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Black Out. I mentioned in my post with Finger Paints Flackies about how much I love this black. Now, this is a pre-cleanup shot because I still had to add Bali Mist, so please forgive how messy it is. It's just so shiny! And only 2 coats on most nails.

I didn't use Bali Mist on it's own because it isn't opaque, even with like 6 coats. I want to try this over white and silver too. I love this color so much! This is what it looks like most of the time (flash). Dark purple. It reminds me of Halloween.

And here is a few pictures of the beautiful duochrome. Most of these are in natural life without flash.

I decided to use my Christmas present from my wonderful bestest friend. She got me the SHANY 2012 stamping set. This is SH20 in Confetti Silver Slippers

Vintage Roses

For today I am showing an old manicure. The base is China Glaze Light as Air. The leaves are CG Four Leaf Clover. I think the leaves would look better with a lighter green, but at the time this was the only green I had. The darker pink is OPI's Pompeii Purple and the lighter air is OPI's Dancing in the Isles.

Just a pretty color

This is CG Four Leaf Clover and it is such a beautiful, perfect creme green. I was going to add little footballs to it but I broke a nail! :(

These pictures really don't do it justice. It's the perfect color of grass. With a coat of SV it's amazingly shiny and supple.

Marbling

This was my second attempt at water marbling. I tried the first time at the very beginning of my journey into nail art and it was a mess! I didn't know if I was ever going to try again, but here I am. Stay tuned and maybe I'll treat you to the picture I took of my FA.

I started with 3 coats of Zoya Snow White. I've had a lot of trouble with whites. Though I'm not completely happy with this, it's better than any of the others I've tried.

Then I wrapped the nails with scotch tape. I used a small cup and room temperature water. I marbled with China Glaze's Lemon Fizz (yellow), Spontaneous (purple), and White on White

Here are some shots of the left and right hand.

Here are my favorite fingers close-up:

I think my right had (which I did first) actually turned out better than my left. On my left I kept having trouble with bubbles. Anyone know how to fix that?

I don't think I'll try marbling again for a while... it's such a pain and so far it's turned out... meh. But, like I promised, here is a look at my FA... what a mess!

8 Degrees

It was a chilly 8 degrees yesterday, so I decided the best thing to do would be to paint my nails like it was summer.

I started with 2 coats of Zoya Snow White and 3 coats of China Glaze Pink Voltage. I didn't love the way it looked alone (think and smudgy... gross!) So I did what any sane person does: I added glitter! I added 3 coats of Sinful Colors Frenzy. Frenzy is super sweet purple and blue and silver small glitter in a clear base:

GLITTER!

I added 2 coats of SV to make it more smooth, but I forgot to wrap my edges on the glitter so.... shrinkage. BOOOOO! Do you see it on the tips?

The other problem was removal. I hate removing glitter. If I had my way I would add glitter to every manicure but taking it off is such a pain! I decided to use the foil method (not the math one!). I soaked a  cotton ball in acetone (I like non-acetone removal on a daily basis, but for glitter I bring out the big guns), put it on the nail and wrapped it in tin foil. Left it on for 5ish minutes and pulled it off. I always feel a bit like a alien:

But it worked! (Please forgive the staining... eek!)
